#name dropping is counter-productive
invoking Kant, Niezsche, the Stoics head-on is a think-stopper; The system those names represents were so immense, people have to deal with it with steoreotypical cliches; but those were hardly what you intended to express; what you intended to express is often this one tiny bit of idea (which may be profound in the system).
So instead of “Kant thinks xxx”, “what Niezsche said about morality”, which links to the accidentals that people cannot relate to or relate based on their reaction to the names (Niezsche said that, and I love the image of myself loving Niezsche) I think it is more appropriate to mention them as an appendix.
There was this idea of XXX, that XXX is XXX and is XXXed in XXX; Kant discussed about this with a similar position in XXX’s chapter XXX if you’d like to read more about it.
